This is a prototype for a spaceship flying game. We want to use it to get feedback on the flying controls and feel. We hope you'll give us lots of feedback!

In this demo, there are 40 coins that you can collect. There's no time limit, and nothing will happen when you've got them all, it's just something to try to accomplish with your flying skills.

As you fly, you'll leave a blue trail behind you. If you crash into it, your ship will explode and you'll respawn after a few seconds. Look out!

You can also adjust the flight values, just check out the controls at the bottom of these instructions.

Controls:

Move Mouse Left and Right: Turn left and right

/ (Forward Slash): Toggle Pitch Roll Mode

When Pitch Roll Mode is ON: Moving the mouse up and down will adjust the ship's pitch.

When Pitch Roll Mode is OFF: Moving the mouse up and down will adjust the ship's altitude.

W/S: Accelerate/Reverse

A/D: Strafe Left/Right

Right Click: Boost

Q/E: Roll Counterclockwise/Clockwise

Middle Mouse Click: Reset Roll Orientation

R: Reset. This will just reload the game if you want to start over.

You can also adjust the in-game values for turning and lift sensitivity:

-/=: Decrease/Increase turning torque (more torque means tighter turning speed)

Left Bracket ([) / Right Bracker (]): Decrease/Increase lift acceleration (more acceleration means tighter up and down movement)

0 (Zero): Reset turning torque to default

P: Reset lift acceleration to default.

If you don't like the default values, feel free to adjust them and let us know what works for you!

I think the controls are adequate (and I have no ideas on how to improve them) but I invariably end up just above the coins when accelerating continuously; I think multiple camera angles would be beneficial.

Also, are later versions of this going to be in a place with air resistance? (ie, the force that slows the ship down when thrust is cut off)

flying too fast..

Thanks for letting me know! Did you feel like it was too fast to be able to turn in time? Or maybe it was too hard to turn at all?
